Spoiler-Free Judgment Zone

We get closer to revealing everything about the past for Lev and Pam this time around as things are cleaned up from the carnage of the last episode. Things felt like they are over the hump, as they should be since we are up to part six.

The ending left us eager for part seven.

Spoilery Synopsis

Pam convinces Grace that she didn’t kill anyone and she found them like that. Grace is too high to argue, and then Pam hides Claudette and Barry’s bodies. Young Jason, or a hallucination of him, tells Pam that the hippies must all die; this is their fault. “I will Jason, I will.” credits roll.

The hippies find Barry’s body, but Pam finds them and kills every one of them. Well, no. Someone else killed one or two, and it’s probably not Grace this time. Harmony, on the other hand, escapes in her van.

In the morning, the police find a whole bunch of bodies. The State Police don’t want Lev involved in the case.

Elsewhere, Brianna gets a whole folder full of Bellflower’s paperwork, and Pam is there, with pictures and everything. Dr. Landau sent it, and he swears Pam is dead.

Lev and Pam visit Grace in the hospital, and they wonder what kind of story she’ll tell when she wakes up. Ralph gets released and makes a whole “You’re all gonna die” speech to the men at the store. Pam tells Ralph that it might be Jason, and he warns her about the danger.

Brianna goes to meet Dr. Landau, but he’s killed by Bellflower goons before she sees him. Someone else meets her, and she asks about Project Argonaut, which was shut down. All those women died. Brianna makes a run for it without getting too much information.

Pam talks to Grace, who tells her about their secret “fortress” in the woods. She goes out there, finds one of Jason’s toys, and waits for him to return. Meanwhile, Brianna tells Lev everything she knows about Pamela.

Lev wants answers from Pam. She’s ready to tell the Bellflower story…

Brian’s Commentary

It’s starting to all come together now with answers to questions we’ve had for a long time. Still good!

Kevin’s Commentary

We get to hear the famous “Kill them, mommy,” for the first time this episode as Pam’s grip on reality and sanity slips a bit more.

Jason’s mother Pam in “Friday the 13th” from 1980, played by Betsy Palmer, only appears on screen for about 15 minutes when she’s revealed to be the real killer. It’s said that she initially thought the movie was crap and only did it for the money – which was $1,000.00 a day for a ten day shoot. Later, she acknowledged how much of an icon she was and how culturally relevant the franchise became. She passed away in 2015, so we can only speculate what she’d think of this series.

Crazy Ralph, who features prominently in 7 out of 8 episodes here, was played by Walt Gorney in the 1980 movie and was only on screen for about three minutes total as the harbinger proclaiming folks were doomed. He’s back in the second movie for about two minutes including his death at the hands of Jason. He was back as an uncredited narrator voice in “Friday the 13th: The New Blood” aka Part 7. Walt Gorney passed away in 2oo4, but he still lives on in memes today.

I’m still digging it.
