A remake of the 2008 film that was another remake of the 1985 film.

In the pre-credit sequence, Medical student Zoe encounters a donor patient, Max, who is said to have a rare kind of blood that is a hundred times more potent than normal. Max, unfortunately, is  real creep who is infatuated with Zoe to the point of cutting her name in his arm. One night, Max corners Zoe in the morgue and tries to rape her. He’s just getting a good start when a corpse jumps up and kills him. The zombie apocalypse has begun!

Skip forward five years, and the zombie plague has wiped out everyone (as far as we know) but a group of survivors in a secluded military base.

Zoe is is now the base doctor. Due to a sick child, who may die and infect others, she leads a group of soldiers to a nearby university to raid their pharmacy. As they enter the medical area, naturally Zoe encounters Max, who is a very different sort of zombie.

Does Max hold the key to a zombie vaccine, or is he the next evolution of the Dead?
