Spoilery Synopsis
We hear part of a news report about a young woman being murdered in her hotel room. Her friend Rick comes to the door, and he’s been injured.
We flew back fifteen hours to see what really happened. He’s out driving through the desert and gets a flat tire. He calls for service, but it will be a long time– he waits.
A woman comes to his car and makes fun of his inability to change a tire. They flirt intensively. “You could be a serial killer for all I know,” she says. Things devolve from there.
Commentary
He couldn’t be bothered to change his own tire when the wait for service was going to be that long? He later said he didn’t know how. I think if I were in that position, I’d make an effort to figure it out.
The acting, cinematography, and sound are all excellent. It’s really good– it did not go as I expected, which is always a good sign.
