Synopsis
James rushes to his back door, and we see some kind of shadowy monster watching him from outside. His Date, Lena, really likes James and wants their date to go well. James is a little self-conscious and awkward, even more so when he sees the black, glowing-eyed creature watching him from the doorway. James stares down the creature; he knows it’s there.
Is this going to be the best date ever?
Commentary
We all have our own internal demons… Some people just have sneaky, voyeuristic ones.
Are there three or four coffee pots in James’s kitchen? He’s my kind of chef!
It’s clearly a metaphor for nerves and first-date awkwardness, maybe a fear of intimacy. Whichever it is, the creature effects are very good, as are the visuals and music.
