Synopsis

A boy, Alfie, and his father are in an auto accident.

Later on, we see the boy talking to the father, but no one else can see the father. Clearly, the father died in the accident, and now he’s a ghost. The boy and his mother go to a Christmas festival, and the boy runs off.

Alfie finds a strange creature in the woods, but his mother gets him first. She buys him a nutcracker doll, and they take it home. The nutcracker seems to have its own ideas about that. Alfie’s mother is pretty unhappy as well, as it seems the father wasn’t such a great man…

Commentary

It’s well acted and suspenseful, and it’s not clear until the end where it was going. Honestly, I’m still not completely sure what happened, but I keep thinking about possible scenarios in my mind, so that fact makes it a successful film in my book.

The film was half over before I decided that Alfie was a boy– I have never seen a little boy with hair that long. Notwithstanding that, the film was very good, and definitely worth 13 minutes of your time.
