What Happens
We open on Velma making a diary entry about her compulsions. She makes her date a very fancy dinner at her place, and they dance afterward. Then, she says she just can’t help helpself. “I tell myself tonight will be different. It won’t end the same way.”
The next date, it’s the same, but with a different guy. What exactly is it that makes all her dates not come back for a second try?
Commentary
I’m not sure if that dinner is supposed to be delicious or disgusting; it’s both at once. The costumes, decor, and food are all amazing. The film is very colorful, bright, and has a great soundtrack. You know from the beginning that something weird is going to happen, but we don’t know exactly what until toward the end.
It’s really well done!
